The clownfish may not be funny, but he’s loyal-he realizes he has no choice but to pack up his nervous energy and skepticism and embark on yet another adventure, this time to help his friend. Marlin, of course, knows how it feels to lose family, and it was Dory who helped him find Nemo not so long ago. So he doesn’t exactly jump at the opportunity to accompany Dory on a mission to the California coast to track down her family. MARLIN (voice of Albert Brooks) may have traveled across the ocean once, but that doesn’t mean he wants to do it again. Check out the new and old faces alike below, along with more about the film from Stanton. You can see them all in action when Finding Dory opens June 17, 2016.

New additions include Dory's fish parents, Charlie and Jenny (voiced by Eugene Levy and Diane Keaton) a beluga whale named Bailey ( Ty Burrell) a whale shark called Destiny ( Kaitlin Olson) and the curmudgeonly octopus Hank ( Ed O'Neill). Ray, and Stanton himself as Crush the super-chill sea turtle. Returning characters include Dory ( Ellen DeGeneres), of course, Marlin and his son Nemo (voiced by the returning Albert Brooks and newcomer Hayden Rolence), Bob Peterson as Mr. You can get your first look at some of those new furry and fishy faces below thanks to USA Today. However, this time around it won't just be a few fish in the sea since Dory will be joined by an expanded oceanic cast. Those teases include all-new images that reveal the animated animal cast of the Finding Nemo sequel. And in the process of achieving our goals, we should never lose sight of our families and loved ones because when the chips are down, they are the ones who will always have our backs.Directors Andrew Stanton and Angus MacLane are starting to roll out a few new teases for their upcoming animated film Finding Dory.

The movie also teaches us that we should never let our fear stand in our way of achieving our goals. Marlin, on the other hand, due to his overprotective nature probably had the hardest time leaving his comfort zone and had to be encouraged by his son to “think like Dory” in order to get out sticky situations. Despite being an amnesiac, Dory can speak whale (her childhood friend in the aquarium was a short-sighted whale shark), and is able to solve problems by simplifying them.

So how does a paranoid adult clownfish, a little clownfish with a deformed fin and an amnesiac regal tang make their way from Sydney to California? On the back of a turtle, with a little luck and lots of positivity.įinding Dory teaches us to never scorn someone for their weaknesses/differences because we all have our own strengths and talents. After a particularly enlightening lecture on stingray migration, Dory’s memories are triggered and she developed an overwhelming urge to find her parents, only vaguely recalling that they lived at “the Jewel of Morro Bay, California”, a Marine Life Institute. However, she starts experiencing dreams and flashbacks of her parents and her home prior to meeting Marlin and Nemo. In Finding Dory, Dory now resides happily with the clownfish family in the Great Barrier Reef. The only catch? Cheerful and optimistic Dory suffers from short-term memory loss.

Together with an adorable regal tang named Dory, Marlin embarked on an adventure of a lifetime to find his son. Finding Dory is the sequel to Finding Nemo, Pixar’s 2003 computer-animated film about Marlin, an overprotective clownfish, who lost his son, Nemo.
